There is a big difference between a good programmer and a seasoned applications developer.  A good programmer will no doubt be able to write a program that will perform most functions conveyed by the client.  A seasoned applications developer, however, will better anticipate potential user errors, will likely foresee future growth requirements, will incorporate secure audit trails and include error trapping and safety features.  But most importantly, such applications will have a uniform look in all modules.  Instructions will be clearly displayed on the screen at all times.  In general, such applications have a much more polished look and result in far fewer errors.

Of course, we employ excellent programmers.  But they always work alongside seasoned applications developers.  Some might call them old geezers; we prefer the word "seasoned".
